Trust Not Your Daughters’ Minds
A classic story of love, sex, betrayal and jealousy
KILN, collaborating with third year students of Birmingham University’s Drama and Theatre Arts degree course, present Trust Not Your Daughters’ Minds
Delving into a classic story of love, sex, betrayal and jealousy, Trust Not Your Daughters’ Minds takes inspiration from Shakespeare’s Othello and Paula Vogel’s play Desdemona: A Play About a Handkerchief. Devised by the ensemble in collaboration with KILN this production investigates the role of women in Shakespeare’s greatest tragedy, examining their virtues and vices through music, sound and the voice.
“We were really pleased to be able to invite KILN – made up of our ex-students! – to work with our third years on a public performance. The show, Trust Not Your Daughters’ Minds brought a new aesthetic to our work. KILN’s work was innovative, clever, and really stretched the students’ abilities and ideas.” Dr Rose Whyman, Head of Department, Drama and Theatre Arts, University of Birmingham
